Technology Changes. The Fundamentals of Transformation Don't.

Twenty years ago, I started Veracity because I wanted to help people.

From day one, our goal was to help clients solve meaningful business problems through technology. That hasn't changed. What has changed is my appreciation for what ultimately determines whether those investments deliver the outcomes our clients expect.Over the last twenty years, the pace of business has accelerated dramatically. Cloud platforms have shortened implementation timelines from years to months. AI is changing how work gets done almost daily. IT has evolved from being viewed as a cost center to becoming a strategic driver of business.

What hasn't changed is what determines whether that technology creates value.

Our team has had the privilege of helping organizations through some of the biggest technology transformations they'll ever undertake. We've seen them invest millions in the right technology and still struggle to realize the value they hoped for. Almost never because the technology wasn't capable, but because the people who would ultimately determine its success weren't meaningfully involved in shaping the change.

I've come to believe that every transformation is ultimately about people.

Technology, strategy, process, and leadership all matter. But transformation creates lasting impact when the people most affected by the change understand its purpose, contribute their experience, and see themselves in what's being built. The strongest leaders I've worked with understand this instinctively. They don't simply lead change; they create an environment where people can help shape it. That's when transformation stops feeling like something that's happening to people and starts becoming something they want to help make successful.

Years later, when we defined our purpose as Elevating People Through Change, it wasn't a new direction. It was putting words to what had been true from the very beginning.

When I say people, I don't mean one group. I mean everyone whose life is made better when change is done well.

That includes the people who choose to build their careers with us. It includes our clients and the people within their organizations who are working every day to better serve their customers and strengthen their businesses. And it includes those in the communities we serve, because I think successful businesses have a responsibility to make the lives of the people around them better. Whether they're our employees, our clients, or our neighbors, I've always believed that if people's lives are better because Veracity exists, then we're fulfilling the purpose we set out to achieve.

As we celebrate Veracity's twentieth anniversary over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing stories about the clients who trusted us, the people who built this company, the partners who have grown alongside us, and the communities that have shaped who we are. Each story is different, but every one of them points back to the same belief.
